Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions

‘Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions’ is Audible’s most ambitious audio drama production to date. In partnership with Pottermore, Audible has recorded a new series of J.K. Rowling’s celebrated wizarding series word-for-word – that’s over 1,000,000 words in total – with every line of dialogue spoken by actors. A pitch-perfect Cush Jumbo narrates the story, and 200 other artists play over 500 roles, ranging from the famous lead characters right down to ‘Wizard in Street’ and ‘Ministry Pamphlet’. The project was recorded over the course of 6 months in studios across London as well as remotely from Liverpool, New York, Sydney etc. I was one of the 8 directors working (simultaneously!) with these world-class actors and production crews, spending 6 months together at Hogwarts. The books have been recorded in vivid Dolby Atmos, with rich and detailed sound design and a sweeping score by composer Nitin Sawhney. It is strongly recommended that people listen on over-ear/noise cancelling headphones to get the fully-immersive experience that has been created for this series.

Here is a Making Of video, showing the actors at work in studio:

The books are being released monthly, from November 2025 to May 2026. Next up: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on Feb 10th 2026.
