Lockdown Audio Production
With recording studios closed by the C19 Lockdown, the Audio industry has been exploring new ways to carry on working remotely, and I have already directed my first full-length audiobook for Audible (title to be announced shortly), working with the actor Ell Potter, who was recording into her bedroom cupboard. We managed to record a 300 page Classic Novel in a non-soundproof space, which meant stopping for everything from obdurate pigeons on her roof to passing planes, to a company drilling up the street outside to lay fibre optic cables. I guess improved internet connection counts as Key Workers, but the timing couldn’t have been worse for us! What’s more, we managed it without having to go back and do a single pickup – so we are justifiably proud of ourselves!
