National Children’s Dramatist’ DavidWood wrote the first play I ever saw: ‘The Owl and the Pussycat Went to See…’ So it has been both an honour and a delight to edit his new book ‘ Tiger, Tom and Tinkle’ – a record of his friendships and collaborations with 3 of the Greats of 20th Century Children’s Literature. Judith Kerr (‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’), Philippa Pearce (‘Tom’s Midnight Garden’) and Kathleen Hale (‘Orlando the Marmalade Cat’).

Through fascinating correspondences and production notes, this book offers unique insight into the ups and downs of the creative process and celebrates three literary legends. Published by TheBookGuild on January 28th 2026. An important book for anyone interested in the art of adaptation and in classic Children’s Literature. And my debut as a book editor.
